Weronika Zielińska-Klein (PL) heeft een MA in Artistiek Onderzoek van de Universiteit van Amsterdam en een BA in Beeldende Kunst van de Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam (RUAS). Sinds 2012 runt ze Upominki, een projectruimte gevestigd in haar ouderlijk huis in Rotterdam, voorheen bekend als Guestroom. In haar artistieke praktijk onderzoekt Zielińska-Klein verschillende curatoriële strategieën, waarbij de nadruk ligt op de concepten geschenk en gastvrijheid.

Gebaseerd op het feministische discours, duikt haar werk in het moederlijke in de hedendaagse kunst en theorie, zoals besproken in het proefschrift van Deirdre M. Donoghue aan de Universiteit Utrecht, Instituut voor Cultureel Onderzoek, en in Ingepaste Bodies; Kunst, design, moederschap (red. Charles Reeve, Rachel Epp-Buller. Bradford: Demeter Press, 2019).

Momenteel bekleedt ze sinds 2019 de functie van Autonomous Practices Leader en is ze onderzoeksdocent aan de Willem de Kooning Academie. Ze is actief betrokken bij Ph.D. onderzoek aan de Amsterdamse School voor Heritage, Memory, and Material Culture, Universiteit van Amsterdam, gericht op matricentrische feminisme, kritische zelforganisatie en autonomie.

Weronika Zielińska-Klein (PL) holds a MA degree in Artistic Research from the University of Amsterdam, and a BAdegree in Fine Art from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam (RUAS). Since 2012, she has been running Upominki, a project space located in her family home in Rotterdam, formerly known as Guestroom. In her artistic practice Zielińska-Klein explores various curatorial strategies, focusing on the concepts of the gift and hospitality.

Grounded in feminist discourse, her work delves into the maternal in contemporary art and theory, discussed notably in Deirdre M. Donoghue PhD dissertation at Utrecht University, Institute for Cultural Inquiry, and in Inappropriate Bodies; Art, Design, Maternity (eds. Charles Reeve, Rachel Epp-Buller. Bradford: Demeter Press, 2019).

Currently, she holds the position of Autonomous Practices Leader since 2019 and serves as a Research Lecturer at the Willem de Kooning Academy. She is actively engaged in Ph.D. research at the Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory, and Material Culture, University of Amsterdam, focusing on matricentric feminism, critical self-organization, and autonomy.
