Known for its cross-disciplinary programme, FIBER Festival 2026 takes place from 28 to 31 May 2026.The forward-thinking festival unites concerts and audiovisual performances, interdisciplinary art, critical discourse and clubnights. Centered around the cultural hub de Brakke Grond, the festival spans across 9 cultural venues in Amsterdam.
As the daytime FIBER festival hub, De Brakke Grond is set to house a wide variety of activities during FIBER Festival 2026, ranging from an exhibition, concerts and symposium weekend to workshops, roundtables, networking events and Sound Art Sunday.
Theme
The 2026 festival edition explores the theme Fragile Forces as a source of collective strength. What does it mean to listen, perform, and play in relation to fragility? What kinds of forces can instill resilience, when something seems beyond repair?
Exhibition at de Brakke Grond
Opening on Friday 22/5 and closing on 20/6, the exhibition displays sound art and immersive installations. Co-curated by Jarl Schulp (FIBER), Gilles Helsen (STUK) in collaboration with Mirthe Demaerel from the Brakke Grond.
Music programme at FIBER Festival 2026 at various venues
The first announced acts feature sensory live sets, audiovisual performances and DJ sets by internationally revered acts and local talents including the likes of Kara-Lis Coverdale, Abdullah Miniawy Trio, Batu, Flore, KUNTARI, Slowfoam, Xenia Reaper, mesocosm, Trois-Quarts Taxi System, eoobe, Formella, LNR and Remma.
Symposium at de Brakke Grond
Central to the FIBER's mission of researching the newest developments of art, sound and media culture is the symposium, which brings together scientists, artists and technologists for knowledge exchange and critical discussions. The first announced speakers include Geert Lovink, Louis Braddock Clarke, Bint Mbareh and Mindy Seu (remote), who are expanding the programme with perspectives rooted in ecology, digital culture, sound research, and alternative ways of knowing.
