On januari 27 the exhibition When She Spoke will conclude with a programme consisting of a radio conversation, a screening and audio transmission of Miroir Séb Fragile ! ánd a session of responding with questions: a performative research project started in 2009 out of the necessity to find new ways to dialogue. All in close collaboration with Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee.
About When She Spoke:
Sirah Foighel Brutmann and Eitan Efrat present visual translations of unique or historically charged places and stories. Research into the performative qualities of moving imagery runs as a common thread throughout their practice: they analyse the camera and its viewpoints, in parallel to the camera’s subject. They aim to mark spatial possibilities and the potential of the time within the (re)reading of images. Foighel Brutmann and Efrat explore the camera’s movement, tensions between the collective and individual experiences of the viewer, and the temporality of stories and memories.
Programme:
4 pm - 5 pm
A conversation between artists Sirah Foighel Brutmann, Eitan Efrat, Dorine van Meel (Skype), Wytske Visser and Reinier Klok. About parenthood in the arts.
5 pm - 5:20 pm
Screening of Miroir Séb Fragile !
Miroir Séb Fragile ! is an invitation to gather around the event of film projection and music. In between absence and presence, text comes into view, creating a direct passage for light. Join us one last time to view the video work together.
5:30 pm - 6 pm
A session answering questions with new questions: presumably this will enable each speaker to continuously reformulate ideas, theories and concepts while advancing towards understanding/misunderstanding, poetics, or all at once. Subscribe via RSVP@brakkegrond.nl.
6 pm - 6:30 pm
Musical performance by RHH (Laszlo Umbreit and Eitan Efrat)
