Plant Based Company
The world doesn’t only belong to human beings – and the same applies to the theatre. If we just wait for extreme natural events such as floods, heatwaves, fires, death and disease to paralyse the city, it’ll simply be too late. This is no ordinary production; it’s an exercise for domesticated city dwellers. You will find a beautiful greenhouse full of a lively community of plants waiting for you. Feel free to bring your own green companion along. This artistic space isn’t just for people, but also for the plant life with whom we share our world.
Plastic Healing
Plastic Healing challenges our perspectives on the world around us and starts from the theory around brain plasticity and tells a story through installation art and sound using the material plastic as a metaphor. Plastics have been brought into the world by human hands, only to be treated as disposable materials. We see the material as something evil, the reason our environment (and our existence) are in danger, but we don’t blame it on ourbehavior or our thinking, but we blame it on the material. Next to that we are becoming one with the material because of
the amount of microplastics in our body. We need to change our relationship. What if we treated this long lasting material differently? What if we treated it as a precious metal, like gold. Would we have the same problems we see today?
This project seeks to redefine our relationship with plastics, exploring their potential for sustainability, longevity, and positive impact on our environment. Plastics possess the potential to outlast generations, serving as a reminder of our responsibility to future inhabitants of our planet. Revalue. Rethink. Refeel Just as our brains are ‘plastic’ (read: adaptable), so too can our views of plastics (and other materials, others, abstract concepts etc) evolve. Through intentional actions, thoughts, and habits, we possess the power to reshape not only our perspectives but the very neural pathways within us. Plastic Healing is a journey of rediscovery, both of our external environment and our internal landscapes. Can we reconstruct the narrative around plastics from one of disposability to one of lasting significance?
One of the cornerstones of Plastic Healing is the "Plastic Healing Hour." This unique practice merges art and wellness through a meditation and sound bath experience. Immerse yourself in a symphony of resonant frequencies that guide your mind into a meditative state. By harmonizing with these vibrations, we can shift our consciousness and access deep insights for personal and collective healing.
LOEI
LOEI is a multimedia project centered around cows. Cows love music. They approach curiously when you play an instrument for them and often join in with mooing. It makes them healthier, and they produce more milk because their stress decreases. LOEI is a piece specially written for cows. Why should we write music only for humans? It's time for a nature-inclusive composition.
