"One day on my way to work, I stumbled upon some shadows for what seemed to be three Arabian camels (dromedaries). As a new comer to the city at that time, I wondered: How Did The Camels Make It To Amsterdam? Why is it only the shadows that remained? Did they adapt to the weather? Did they mange to integrate? What language do they speak now? And how are they able to afford the rent?"
A travelling story in three parts: adaptation, integration and assimilation. In her work, artist and researcher Dina A. Mohamed tries to understand the universal despondency caused by complex economic and political structures. Based on personal experiences, she reflects on how we, as individuals and as a society, can regain our political awareness and independence.
